Puzzle Heart
Valentine's Day Craft
Share a piece of your heart with this clever homemade
Valentine.
A perfect use for old puzzles and a great project idea for classrooms
and scout troops!

Materials
Puzzle pieces
Red spray paint
Poster board or cardstock paper
Newspaper
Glue
Place old jigsaw puzzle pieces, excluding the straight-edged
border pieces, on newspaper and spray-paint them red,
pink or purple (brush-applied paint will also work).
Let the pieces dry thoroughly before gluing them into a heart shape.
It easier to glue the pieces onto white poster board cut into a heart
shape. This provides a guideline to follow and makes the heart shape
more durable. Glue the puzzle pieces randomly.
Stack a few pieces for texture.
Options:
Small hearts can be made into lapel pins by attaching a pin backing with
hot-glue...or you can add a ribbon for hanging
on the wall or door or turn your heart into a magnet with self-sticking
magnetic strip (craft store).
If you have extra puzzle pieces make a
puzzle pin.
