Pre-teen Party
This year my daughter presented me with an unexpected "stumper", for her birthday party.
She wanted to invite boys!
Out went the Tie-dye sleepover...Bead Party, Art Party, etc.
Happily, the party was a huge hit and fun was had by all!
It was truly one of the easiest parties I've ever given..
The theme was "Fun & Games"
She invited enough children to enjoy the games, but not too many
...12 guest arrived. We used simple decorations, e.g.
White sheet table cloth with sequins and a Lava Light for fun & some balloons around the rooms.
All rooms were closed off
but Living, Family and Kitchen. Nice weather helped us out!
Bookshelves were stocked with games like,
Don't Break the Ice, Kerplunk, Operation, Checkers, Jenga,
Cards,
Tiddly Winks, Etc.
Guests were asked to bring their favorite games!
I put some games out before the guests arrived to help get things going.
About 15 min. into the party, we played some circle games and then a group version of
Twister, to break the ice. Outside was a basket of horseshoes, hula hoops, jump ropes etc. At this pre teen age they really take care of themselves and want to play, chat and eat.
The table was stocked with "munchies" galore...
veggies and dip, Chips, candy soda, and juice and bottled water.
For dessert let the kids make their own sundaes. You provide
plenty of ice-cream an toppings - the kids will do the rest!
We had so much fun and the kids were busy the whole time !
The party lasted 2 1/2 Hours and went by quickly.
