BARBIE PARTY INVITATIONS
Send purchased Barbie invitations to match your theme.
Or, you can make your own using cardstock paper and die cut
dress shapes (craft or scrapbook store). Cut 3x5 postcards from
the cardstock paper. Glue the dress shape onto the front of the
card. Decorate with gel pens.
Add sprinkle of glitter in the envelope for a special touch.
If hand delivery
is possible, tie the invitation to a Barbie
lollipop or lip gloss.
Invite your guests to bring their favorite Barbie.
BARBIE PARTY DECORATIONS
The colors of choice are pink and lavender.
Cover and set the table with
matching
plates, cups etc.
Add a Happy Birthday Barbie Doll
centerpiece or make your own with
a weighted balloon bouquet placed in a Barbie gift bag. Sprinkle sequins or
pink candies on the table. Place balloon bouquets all around the party area. Drape the Birthday Girl's chair with pink fabric
and ribbon.
A few Barbie Posters
on the walls will add a festive touch and they can be hung ion
the birthday girl's room after the party!
BARBIE PARTY GAMES & ACTIVITIES
The Party Begins...
Upon arrival, escort the girls to the Barbie makeover table, where they will receive a small amount
of lipstick, blush and eye shadow. If you have not already
suggested the girls wear their favorite dress-up
dress...provide a box of special dress up clothes and a mirror.
Pass the Purse Game
Play this game just as you would "Hot Potato".
Position the girls into a circle. Pass a decorated or Barbie
purse from
player to player, around the
circle while music is playing.
When the music stops the player holding the tiara will sit in the center for one round,
or she can be in charge of the music
for one round. Fill the purse with candies or stickers before
the party and pass out a prize to every player,
when the game comes to an end.
Barbie is missing her favorite things!
Place several items on a tray or cookie sheet.
Fill a tray with several Barbie theme related items; tiara, lipstick, Barbie shoes,
Barbie or Kelly pets and other accessories.
One player leaves the room. Remove one or two items from the
tray.
When that player returns, they must guess what's missing.
Everyone gets a turn!
Barbie Puzzler
Before the party -- Print out Barbie pictures from the Internet
or use a coloring book. Attach each picture onto some construction paper
with a glue stick. Cut the pictures into 2, 3, or 4 puzzle pieces. Hide the pieces around
the party area. The girls each need to find one puzzle piece and then
find the the players with the matching piece/s.
Barbie Takes the Cake Game
Played just like "Pin the Tail on the Donkey".
Enlist an artistic teen to draw a Barbie on a piece of poster
board.
Using an overhead projector with for tracing will make this job
easier.
Draw and cut several cakes from card stock paper.
On the day
of the party, add double stick tape to one
side of the cake
and write the girl's names on the other.
Use a pink satin sash for the blindfold. The object of the game is
to place the cake in Barbie's hand.
This can also be done with a
purse or hair ribbon,
as opposed to a cake.
Barbie Time
Be sure to allow plenty of free Barbie play time.
True Barbie fans
love nothing better than to spend time dressing their dolls,
fixing their hair etc.
Fill some plastic tubs or baskets with Barbie accessories for
the girls to enjoy.
BARBIE PRINCESS PARTY CRAFTS
Barbie's Jewels
Bead jewelry with string and plastic beads.
Pretty as a Princess Frame
Decorate craft foam picture frames (craft store) with glitter glue and stick on jewels. Use a Polaroid or digital
camera and printer, to take pictures when the girls are all dressed up. Each girl will have their own picture and frame to take
home.
BARBIE PRINCESS PARTY FAVORS
Fill small purses (dollar store) or plastic Barbie
cups with goodies; lip gloss, Barbie fruit snacks, Barbie accessories, stickers and a glitter pen.
BARBIE CAKE

This cake can be a bit tricky, but if you use a Wilton's dome shaped
cake pan and a doll pick it will be much easier. Wilton's also provides
easy to follow directions. Be sure to completely cool your cake. I
always remove the crumbs and place the cake into the freezer for
several hours before frosting. Use a plastic spatula toe frost the dress
shape and a decorating tube to make the flowers, lace and dress top.
